I worked with patients of all ages and used many types of different equipment and procedures. I treated patients by using massage, exercise, heat, cold, electrical stimulation, and light. We began processing the FMLA work for 74 total districts in the United States on September 10, 2011. I managed the administration side of the FMLA protection for Postal employees in the field and at Headquarters in Washington, DC. I was actively involved in the improvement of the process during the transition, including troubleshooting any and all issues that arose during the inception of the migration. Show less I was selected to participate with a team of six Human Resources Associates to assist in the Postal Service's Human Resource Shared Service Center’s first voluntary early retirement. The voluntary early retirement was offered in four phases and 13,271 employees retired under this offer. In August of 2009, an agreement was negotiated with the American Postal Workers Union and the National Postal Mail Handlers Union to offer a $15,000 financial incentive (to be distributed over two years) to the first 30,000 employees who agreed to retire or resign. By October 31, 2009, over 20,000 employees had agreed to retire or separate under this offer. I sat in on several telecoms with postal officials from Headquarters and contributed ideas and thoughts on the project. I personally managed hundreds of employees’ case files, logged in applications received, communicated with employees, managers, supervisors, and postmasters via telephone. I worked with Retirement Counselors to ensure that case files were completed, accurate, and mailed to the Office of Personnel Management timely. Show less
