      After completing a 3 year Mechanical Apprenticeship I was employed in various positions within the Royal Air Force. Working on fast jet aircraft on the flight line, on Base Maintenance and on the overhaul of Rolls Royce RB199 Gas Turbine engines. Starting as a Junior Engineer and working my way up through Supervisory and finally Junior Management positions. I finished my career as the Mechanical Trade Manager on a fast jet Squadron with overall responsibility for managing all aspects of the mechanical engineering maintenance on twenty Panavia Tornado F3 aircraft in a flight line environment. As a Line Manager I had the responsibility for a team of 110 mechanical engineering personnel. Over this period my managerial, supervisory and hands on skills were utilised to the full. Show less

      I was previously employed as an EASA B1/B2/C Licenced Aircraft Engineering Shift Supervisor for Flybe Aviation Services at Edinburgh Airport. With B1 company approval on Embraer 190/170, Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and Embraer 145 aircraft. I am responsible for ensuring a small team of engineers carry out all of the required scheduled maintenance and rectification required to keep aircraft available to meet the Airlines flying requirements.
