       Coordinated all logistical aspects of training for Children’s Institute International, an organization specializing in the treatment and prevention of domestic violence, child abuse and neglect. Identified venues, secured instructors and conducted outreach, for in-services to multi-day events and conferences for classes of 20 to 200 participants. On average, trainings were rated a 4 or 5, on a scale of 1-5 by 87% of students.  Helped assess training needs, program goals and implementation strategies on domestic violence / child abuse identification, reporting, assessment and treatment.  Conducted training on child abuse identification and reporting for mandated reporters.  Identified and negotiated contracts with training consultants.  Applied and processed continuing education units in professional disciplines including law, law enforcement, nursing, psychology and social work.       Director of Grantmaking

       Managed the annual grantmaking programs of the Liberty Hill Foundation, a public charity dedicated to supporting social change in Los Angeles County through seed and capacity building grants, as well as through training and education. The docket included competitive, donor advised and restricted grants totaling $3.5 million. Helped manage donor relationships and services. Developed funding dockets for donor advisors. Led donor education programs on the work of grantees and issues such as giving circles.  Worked with members of the board to set the foundation’s grantmaking policies and procedures.  Developed funding guidelines and oversaw all outreach. Screened requests and proposals, and chaired grantmaking committees. Made funding recommendations to the board. Evaluated grantees and assessed the overall quality and impact of funding programs.  Planned and implemented conferences and technical assistance activities for grantees.  Supervised the grantmaking team. Ensured the department delivered on time and on budget with a view towards realizing the foundation’s mission. Represented Liberty Hill in the broader philanthropic community. As a consultant (2010), developed and executed a grantmaking program that was part of The California Endowment’s statewide Diversity in Philanthropy Initiative. Outreached to qualified organizations, prepared the request for proposals, reviewed proposals and made funding recommendations adopted by the Liberty Hill president. Show less

       Led implementation of programmatic aspects of the annual operating plan through grantmaking, capacity building, convening, research, and technical assistance.  Strategized and oversaw database system improvement to better track grants and prepare reports. Directed the Health Leadership Fellows initiative, a 10-month incubation program followed by ongoing engagement of graduates. Encouraged and supported Fellows as change agents promoting health equity across the state.  Oversaw a comprehensive evaluation of all activities that support the accomplishment of the foundation’s goals.        Leading strategic board revitalization with the development, shepherding and implementation of new policies and recruitment of new members with diverse skills and backgrounds.  Act as an ambassador and fundraise on AWBW’s behalf. Secured over $50,000 in less than one year for AWBW. Certified to provide art workshops to adults and children, supporting participants to take concrete steps toward a healthy and resilient future.
