  In 2007 after establishing himself as one of the key resources on the team Karl took on the role of Lead Tester. Karl led numerous releases within his area and was responsible for reviewing requirements, Test Designs and Low Level Scripts as well as over seeing execution of these scripts. Karl also ensured team members were fully trained across numerous platforms such as VME and UNIX, creating training material that the whole team could refer to. Karl was also considered as a Subject Matter Expert and was often sought out by members of Test, Development and Analysis to help them resolve queries. Karl worked on a number of workloads across a wide range of platforms such as VME, UNIX, VM/VSE, MVS, MPE, DEC/VMS and AS400's. Karl was responsible for supporting clients TP online services throughout the day and processing their batch overnight, which also involved printed output such as letters, cheques and payslip printing. Karl was also responsible for providing Help Desk support out of hours.In addition to this Karl continued to mentor and train junior shift members he also created and updated Operational documentation including detailed schedules to help support all shift members.
