  Case Manager/Senior Field Internship

  At Communities in Schools I managed a case load of eight elementary students ranging from first to fifth grade. With these students, I utilized individual supportive guidance and referred them to outside agencies such as Operation School Bus, Food Pantries and Shoes for Austin. I co-facilitated a clinical group dealing with fourth grade girl's self-esteem, as well as co-facilitated a fifth grade yearbook club. I also assisted in implementing an attendance incentive intervention to increase student's attendance. With every student, I collected background information by interviewing teachers and making home visits. I utilized play therapy and pair counseling with students, documenting, in detail, all interactions. In addition, I volunteered with AmeriCorps. Show less
