      In this virtual internship I was given a list of presumably leaked passwords from the company's database. My task was to analyse the leaked passwords(which were in hashed format), to crack the hashed passwords and obtain original passwords, gather information about the company's password policies and suggest improvement so that leaked password data could not be cracked. Analysed Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) and Message Digest (MD5). Concluding that the compromised password used MD5 algorithm which is weaker and prone to collision. Show less
