Each student works as a dental hygienist for three weeks in different locations. My internship was within the UNC Hospital Dental Clinic working primarily with special needs patients and severely medically compromised individuals. Treatment was planned and tailored to each patient's individual needs. Customer service experience was gained as well as experience working with the special needs population.
