✴️ SNAPSHOT:I was responsible for directing the expansion of this California-based nonprofit into the Pacific Northwest, which made me their first recruit in the region. I developed relationships with the school districts and administrators of high-need schools while organizing monthly volunteer events to increase community engagement. During my tenure, I was able to increase the initiative's impact from serving no students to 2,200, fostered relationships with a few local nonprofits, and created a donor network. I was also able to secure commodities such as product donations from Nike and financial sponsorships from wholesalers to clothe and shoe children in need. With autonomy on how to develop the program, I controlled finances and supervised a growing team of volunteers. While I was ecstatic for the direct impact of the work, I found myself making a transition to work on initiatives that produce systemic changes and long term policy solutions.✴️ ABOUT:My New Red Shoes (MNRS) works to improve the quality of life and well-being of children and youth experiencing economic hardship. Since 2006, they have provided critical resources to hundreds of thousands of children and families, partnered with hundreds of organizations to distribute more than $3.5 million in direct economic assistance, deliver basic needs to over 250,000 individuals, and advocate tirelessly for policies that uplift children.
