Advanced bioinformatics are used to select transcription factors or enzymes and possible effectors or substrates. Activity assays include spectroscopic methods, frontal affinity chromatography ESI-MS and fluorescence based thermal denaturing assays are used to identify and characterize protein - small molecule interactions. Protein-DNA binding interactions are probed through electrophoretic mobility shift assays, DNA footprinting and fluorescence polarization of labeled probes. Show less
