Themain purpose of the dam is to produce hydroelectric power. The Xayaburi Dam would be820 metres long and 32.6 metres high with a rated hydraulic head of 18 metres. It wouldcreate a reservoir with 1.3 km3 gross storage capacity and surface area of 49 squareKilometers. The total installed capacity would be 1,285 megawatts. We are one of sub-contractor to Ch.Karnchang (Lao) Company herein after call (CKL),We responsible for Intermediate Block Construction. The scope of work comprise of The over 20 segmented of concrete block which various on the size, the average size would be approximated 40m (wide) x 40m (long) x 40m (height), also there are various concrete structures e.g. 1 unit of Power House, 2 units of Pumping Station, 3 units of Erection Bay, 3 Feeding Galleries and 1 unit of Intake Gravity water supply so, Accumulated qt'y of CVC+LCVC are about 1,100,000 Cu.m, 45,000 tons of rebar, 190,000 Sq.m of PERI’s formwork.Addition to the concrete works, there are imported fills which consist of 320,000 Cu.m of Hard fill concrete. The total sub contractor amount at the end of project is foreseen to be THB 6,200 million or US$ 200 Million.The roles and responsibilities are described below;- Engineering Manager-responsible for managing all relevant to the technical and contractual terms between CKL, overseeing of Department of Design, Survey, Quality Assurance/Control and Safety & Environment.- Deputy Project Manager from 2015- Current- Lead and direct technical and administrative project team, Execute and monitor project activities, Coordinate cross-functional meetings of personnel related to project, Prepare and update project plans and status reports, Facilitate sessions to effectively resolve issues if any, Allocate appropriate resources to ensure projects are completed within given time and budget. The NG dam is a roller compacted concrete (RCC) structure with a central spillway. The reservoir full supply level will be at +el 455.00 m.a.s.l and the minimum operating level will be at +el 420 m.a.s.l. the reservoir will have a surface area of about 107 km2 at the full supply level. The NG dam height is 65 m, crest length 480 m, Gallery size is 3m x 3.6m x 750 m, the Spillway totally wide 92 m with 5 redial gates for the discharging protocol. The total RCC volume is 380,000 cubic meters The roles and responsibilities are described below;- Subcontractor’s QC Manager/Technical Engineer – responsible for project coordinator with all respect to the technical/construction matter including drawings and problem solving. Planning and prepare the construction program with periodic updated, three weeks look ahead, materials quality control e.g., CVC, RCC, water stop, drainage etc., prepared the construction methodology with resources arrangement, design most of temporary works such a access road, false work, formwork, concrete conveyor structure etc., Leading Right tunneling subcontractor whom responsible for all precast units, cofferdam and access road. Also in charge of repairing works and 2nd stage concrete inside the gallery that have been handling by Hammersmith our subcontractor. Managing project during final handing over until successfully receive the taking over certificate from CMC di Ravenna without delay. Thereafter, being a leader and dealing with Main contractor and Client’s representative in term of technical and construction matter such a demolition, rehabilitation, landscaping and reforestation works until the end of contract.
