  Metallurgist Technician

  Ensure effective and efficient delivery of a quality service by providing a process development service and specialised technical support to all applicable sections. Conduct investigations and make recommendations to BU and Line Managers regarding appropriate Engineering techniques to be applied to enhance operations. Conduct audits on process development and implementation, installations, equipment and facilities (during planning, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and operations). Optimise processes, equipment performance, reliability and stability. Failure analyses and root cause problem solving. Initiate continuous improvement initiatives leading to research and development. Ensure and maintain a healthy environment, safe operations, good housekeeping practices and accept responsibility for safety. Comply with SHEQ- and technical requirements, in line with Plant / Mine availability targets. Monitor, identify and respond to defects and / or sub-standard process, equipment performance and other improvement opportunities. Liaise with internal and external customers, relevant statutory bodies to ensure sound business relationship management toward meeting client needs. Ensure Exxaro's image is maintained and promoted at all times (internally and externally). Provide a professional / specialist advisory support service with regard to process development /production / product quality across different levels within the organisation. Show less
