      Provides leadership on departmental and campus-wide efforts to design, implement, and assess a comprehensive package of co-curricular programs that address sexual misconduct prevention and victim assistance-including primary prevention, bystander intervention, risk reduction, and reporting campaigns. Designs, implements, and assess online training modules for the campus community that focus on sexual misconduct prevention and victim assistance. Collaborates with a wide variety of campus partners to implement prevention programming and develop victim services that are culturally competent and sensitive to race, gender, culture, religion, ability, and sexual orientation. Works in close partnership with the Title IX Coordinator, Vanderbilt University Police Department, and Office of Student Accountability, Community Standards, & Academic Integrity to develop accessible and equitable reporting options for victims of sexual misconduct. Supervises operation of the Project Safe hotline, a victim assistance service staffed 24/7 by Prevention Educator and Victim Resource Coordinators. Participates broadly in campus-wide strategic planning for health, safety, and well-being. Monitors campus climate around sexual misconduct and make recommendations to campus leaders that improve the health, safety, and well-being of the campus community.Cara also serves as a Senior Lecturer within the Vanderbilt University College of Arts and Science Women’s and Gender Studies Program, for which she regularly teaches the Seminar on Gender and Violence. Assisted in advising the Undergraduate Honor Council regarding investigations and hearings for alleged violations of the Honor Code. Helped ensure policies and procedures were compliant with applicable federal, state, and university regulations (FERPA, HIPPA, Clery, Title IX, etc.). Served as a resource and liaison to members of the University community on matters pertaining to the administration of the Student Conduct Code and the Honor Code.
