Collaborates with a wide variety of campus partners to implement prevention programming and develop victim services that are culturally competent and sensitive to race, gender, culture, religion, ability, and sexual orientation. Works in close partnership with the Title IX Coordinator, Vanderbilt University Police Department, and Office of Student Accountability, Community Standards, & Academic Integrity to develop accessible and equitable reporting options for victims of sexual misconduct. Supervises operation of the Project Safe hotline, a victim assistance service staffed 24/7 by Prevention Educator and Victim Resource Coordinators. Participates broadly in campus-wide strategic planning for health, safety, and well-being. Monitors campus climate around sexual misconduct and make recommendations to campus leaders that improve the health, safety, and well-being of the campus community.Cara also serves as a Senior Lecturer within the Vanderbilt University College of Arts and Science Women’s and Gender Studies Program, for which she regularly teaches the Seminar on Gender and Violence.
