    • KPMG Australia

      Feb 2018 - Jun 2021

In my role as a Senior Consultant within the Governance, Risk and Controls Advisory division of KPMG Melbourne I was responsible for the delivery of multiple Risk Assurance and Internal Audit plans, from the beginning of planning to the final report and discussions with management. I worked closely with Partners and Directors upstream and other team members downstream to ensure our deliverables provide adequate comfort over the risks of our clients. Highlights whilst in this role were: - Working on a confidential project at an investment bank, during which I was instrumental in developing our assessment criteria and I took on many of the day to day tasks and responsibilities that would normally be carried out by the manager of the engagement (as our manager was new to the firm). - Working with autonomy at a big 4 bank when I was seconded there for 3 months at the end of 2020, whilst there I reported directly to a Senior Manager of their Internal Audit function whilst undertaking a scope centred around governance.- Being responsible for multiple scopes across different clients with similar deadlines and prioritising both my time and that of my team to ensure timely delivery. Show less As a Consultant I completed typical 'Business as usual’ internal audit scopes such as Benefit Payments and Member Communications, regulatory scopes such as Risk Management Framework Reviews under SPS 220 and Outsourced Service Provider scopes under SPS231 and assisted with some insurance work before leading various financial advice fee deduction scopes. In my final year as a consultant I was also given the opportunity to take on the internal audit in-charge role for one of the largest superannuation funds in Australia. This involves assisting in the execution of the Risk Assurance Plan by managing stakeholders, keeping aware of all scopes running for that client, monitoring the budget and discussing the status of each scope with the client. In addition to carrying out scopes myself. Show less
