      In this contract-based project, I designed three LED drivers with different power levels, 3W, 6W, and 9W. The design was based on "constant power strategy" to reduce the flicker of the light. I designed a compact Two-layer PCB, and I validated the design using multiple tests and measurements.

      Efficiency improvement in onboard battery chargers in electric vehicles• Converter type: Dual Active Bridge DC/DC Converter (DAB)• Duration: September 2019-January 2020• Location: McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC)• Outcome: An optimization approach was developed which could increase the efficiency remarkably. Two IEEE papers (link below) are published based on the results. DC-link electrolyte capacitors ripple current reduction in BSG inverters in mild-hybrid vehicles• Inverter type: Six-switch IGBT topology• Duration: February 2020-July 2020• Location: McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC)• Outcome: By the proposed modified modulation technique the ripple current was reduced by 22%. Design, implementation and validation of BLDC and SR motor drives in respiratory ventilators• Converter type: Six-switch SiC MOSFET topology• Duration: August 2020- August 2021• Location: Home Lab (Hamilton)• Outcome: Two driver boards (validated), Capacitor condition monitoring in high-voltage high-power AC motor drives• Converter type: diode front end fed six switch IGBT inverter/cascaded H-bridge• Duration: November 2021- Ongoing• Location: HiPEL Lab at McMaster University Show less
