Joseph led the project development team responsible for developing all of MCT's projects in the UK including securing leases and developing a project portfolio of five projects in Wales, England Scotland and NI totalling over 200MW.Joseph was responsible for team management, as well as leading stakeholder engagement for both project development and consenting activities, and supporting commercial negotiations and due diligence with project investors and partners. It has over 200 members and has been at the forefront of development of the wave, tidal stream, tidal range and floating wind sectors. Joseph was vice chair of the MEW Advisory Board for over ten years, using his experience to provide strategic advice and support through the growth of the organisation.

      MarineSpace (now part of ERM) was one of the UK's leading environmental consultancies for the offshore renewables and marine aggregates sectors.Joseph led the growth of the company into the marine energy sector, responsible for securing and delivering contracts to provide development and consenting support. Joseph helped establish the Welsh office and supported the delivery of the Marine Energy Engineering Centre of Excellence (MEECE). This involved working with Welsh universities, supply chain companies and technology developers to develop and deliver collaborative research projects. During his time at ORE Catapult Joseph also helped set up and initially managed the Milford Haven Energy Kingdom project focussed on exploring the feasibility of a hydrogen economy in the region.
