Siemens bought Marine Current Turbines, the worlds leading tidal stream technology developer with a view to commercialising the technology. Joseph led the project development team responsible for developing all of MCT's projects in the UK including securing leases and developing a project portfolio of five projects in Wales, England Scotland and NI totalling over 200MW.Joseph was responsible for team management, as well as leading stakeholder engagement for both project development and consenting activities, and supporting commercial negotiations and due diligence with project investors and partners.   Marine Energy Wales is a globally renowned industry association for offshore renewables in Welsh waters. It has over 200 members and has been at the forefront of development of the wave, tidal stream, tidal range and floating wind sectors. Joseph was vice chair of the MEW Advisory Board for over ten years, using his experience to provide strategic advice and support through the growth of the organisation.

  MarineSpace (now part of ERM) was one of the UK's leading environmental consultancies for the offshore renewables and marine aggregates sectors.Joseph led the growth of the company into the marine energy sector, responsible for securing and delivering contracts to provide development and consenting support. One of its most significant successes was securing multi million pound funding and delivering a marine energy test area to support the development of the offshore renewables sector in Wales.   ORE Catapult is the UK’S leading technology innovation and research centre for offshore renewable energy. Joseph helped establish the Welsh office and supported the delivery of the Marine Energy Engineering Centre of Excellence (MEECE). This involved working with Welsh universities, supply chain companies and technology developers to develop and deliver collaborative research projects. During his time at ORE Catapult Joseph also helped set up and initially managed the Milford Haven Energy Kingdom project focussed on exploring the feasibility of a hydrogen economy in the region.   Hiraeth is a Welsh renewable energy developer committed to maximising the benefits of energy projects to Wales and enabling community ownership.Joseph brought together eight sector leading Partners to establish the company with the primary focus being the development of floating offshore wind projects in the Celtic Sea and securing a proportion of Welsh ownership. Joseph has particular responsibility for the overall management of the company and its activity. He was instrumental in securing investment in its projects, partnering with the Norwegian developer Magnora Offshore Wind. He also supported stakeholder engagement, including political and government engagement, and sat on the Celtic Sea Developers Alliance, as well as developing the project financial model and developing the community ownership aspect.   Afallen is Wales’ leading sustainability consultancy, focussed on delivering the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act through a wide range of services for public and private sector clients including - strategy development, project management, stakeholder mapping and/or engagement, feasibility studies, project evaluations, and social impact assessment. Over recent years Afallen has been at the forefront of net zero strategy and planning as stakeholder engagement lead for the majority of Local Area Energy Plans (LAEPs) in Wales. Joseph is one of four Partners leading the organisation, each responsible for securing new contracts, client relationships, managing and delivering projects. He has particular responsibility for business development and managing the quality system.
