  • My responsibilities included producing the Drive Time radio show, including sourcing topical news stories and guests, in the short period before the show was live. • Became a digital content lead for BBC Three Counties Sport, I was given the opportunity to create and run the social media platforms Twitter and Instagram. • Summarising and attending live football matches for radio. When not attending the matches live, I also worked as an Operations Room Assistant, editing live football matches for broadcast during the game.• Presenting special broadcasts focusing on film and music when I worked as an Entertainment Journalist, carrying out live interviews which involved substantial research into a subject topic beforehand.   Chief Film Critic

  • Chief film critic for online culture magazine The Upcoming. My role includes attending film and press screenings, whereby I am given autonomy to write my personal critique of the film, all to a tight deadline. • I have also interviewed celebrities and reported from film festivals, requiring a different communication style. • I have taken this experience into my role at the BBC, becoming a weekly film contributor to BBC Radio stations.

  • My role includes pitching, researching and reporting on topical news stories on the camera and behind the microphone, creating breaking news content in the form of packages which are often broadcast on the One, Six and Ten PM television news, as well as in the form of my own BBC Radio/TV Bulletins and online articles.• Report on major news stories live on the BBC News Channel. • I was recently selected to cover the British Podcast Awards ceremony in London. My role included interviewing the winners, recording radio bulletins and writing an article for the BBC News website under tight time constraints. This required me to work solo and also as part of a team with the sub editor and bulletins editor. • I have developed my investigative journalism and research skills when writing copy for the internal news wires and articles for BBC online. I often apply my strong written communication skills during these tasks, whilst ensuring I abide by the BBC editorial guidelines. Show less • Daily responsibilities include pitching stories and producing whilst in the field for the BBC television and radio. When doing this, I operate technical equipment such as LiveU’s, WMT’s and Inject Points to coordinate the sending of my own recorded and live material captured for use by BBC Westminster and the UK pool of broadcasters (Sky and ITN). • Attendance nationally and internationally at political conferences, breaking news press briefings, reporting from live events and election trails with a correspondent.• I have utilised my strong communication skills to obtain a large database of contacts, who I refer to when investigating and gathering information for my own news stories. As a result, I have also developed a strong understanding of the inner workings of Whitehall and Government, as well as using the tool The Media Eye.• I have demonstrated my ability to adapt to any given circumstance when being deployed to required locations to report on breaking news stories; producing the live output, conducting doorstep interviews and gathering vox-pop reactions from the public.• Training in this role includes; Hostile Environment (terrorism), riot, protest and environmental threat.
