Secured stakeholder commitment to a new schedule, reduced the defects and delivered the application on time, saving ~$600k in annual support costs.• Rolled out the Project Delivery Framework (PDF) methodology to consistently manage all “Shell Downstream” IT projects globally. Led a global virtual team to provide communications, support, compliance monitoring and end-user training to IT project managers.Took on broadening roles:• Cluster Delivery Manager: Ensured successful delivery of a “cluster” of 7 unrelated, globally diverse projects through PM coaching and issue resolution/escalation.• Interim team lead: Successfully managed the wind-down of the ERP legacy architects, a sensitive role which involved global staff engagement, compliance with HR processes and assisting/coaching my team members to find new jobs in Shell or face redundancy. • Programme Delivery Manager/Management Office – Facilitated delivery of a large multi-year programme (~$140M). In recent years corncrake numbers in Scotland have fallen to worryingly low levels. RSPB Scotland launched Corncrake Calling - Enhancing Scotland’s Crex Appeal in August 2020, a four-year, £740k project working with farmers, crofters, communities and Scottish Government to safeguard the future of these rare birds supported by a £375k National Lottery Heritage Fund grantIn this role, I led the delivery of activities in 3 project workstreams: Land Management; Public Engagement and Advocacy through a geographically diverse team. Land Management involved facilitating management agreements for corncrakes, advisory and training. Public Engagement activities included exhibitions, events, education and interpretation for local communities in corncrake areas, plus web pages, films and a touring exhibition to engage a wider national audience. Delivery of a successful advocacy workshop initiated working relationships with external stakeholders with whom RSPB Scotland hopes to develop and deliver more effective agricultural policies. This varied project role was a great experience for learning about corncrake land management and related conservation challenges. After moving into a more hands-on role, my hope is that the new PM will bring a fresh approach to successfully saving corncrakes in Scotland. Show less In recent years corncrake numbers in Scotland have fallen to worryingly low levels. Plans for a project aimed at saving the corncrake took a positive step forward in 2018 thanks to a grant award from the National Lottery. This enabled RSPB Scotland to develop the project ideas further in 2019 and apply for a full National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £375k for a 4 year project.Having submitted the funding application in October 2019 my interim PM role has included:- Preparing a presentation to highlight and support the case for the project and co-presenting it to NLHF with 3 colleagues in November.- Preparing and submitting the final reports and grant claim for the development phase.- Final administration tasks to close the development phase.- Planning for the start of project delivery.NLHF confirmed their decision to fund the Corncrake Calling project in March 2020. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has delayed the start of project delivery with the result that I was put on furlough leave from mid-March to mid-June. After coming off furlough my interim PM role included:- Setting up the new project finance mechanisms and associated tools for tracking budget and cost.- Re-planning the project in light of Covid-19 delays and activity restrictions.
