  As the Acting Director for the Manila Regional Office and Outpatient Clinic, I was responsible to the Pacific District Director for the operation of the only VA Regional Office and Outpatient Clinic located in a foreign country. VA Manila serves a Veteran population located throughout the Republic of the Philippines which is comprised of over 7,100 islands. VA Manila is one of 29 agencies under the U.S. Embassy mission within the Department of State.   As the Assistant Director of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA) Salt Lake City Regional Office, I am responsible for 833 full-time employees and administering VA benefits and services to 135,988 Utah Veterans and their families. I am responsible for the annual disbursement of $499 million compensation and pension benefits paid to 30,919 Utah Veterans and dependents. I am also responsible for the Salt Lake City Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment program, the Salt Lake City Incident Team (completes all potential benefit fraud cases for VBA nationwide), a National Call Center, the nation’s only IRIS Response Center, and the Salt Lake City Fiduciary Hub, which serves 13 western states, Guam, and provides funds management of over $898 million in VA benefits.
