  Program Manager - Civil Engineer Corps Officer

  During multiple combat tours, I was able to hone my skills as leader. I was responsible for the safety and wellbeing of 52 sailors from multiple commands. I was forced to learn different communication styles and methods in order to ensure the timely and safe execution of missions. Working humanitarian missions in developing countries and being a first responder to a natural disasters proved to be similar in execution. It taught me the value of creativity and thriftiness, using what you had to make it work.   With CPCI, I was responsible for the day to day development of four separate residential development projects each with over 168 units and valued at over $10 million per project. Part of my job was to conduct regular facility assessment site visits and provided recommendations based on site conditions.My top achievement at CPCI was being hand-selected member of the technology development committee that reviewed information and communication technology and made recommendations for the implementation of technology orientated funding. Through this committee, we were able to implement iPads to support day to day on site activities and reporting.   As an innovative leader of the East Region Facilities Engineer and Space Planning Teams, I develop unique solutions that fit my customer’s budgets, schedules and requirements. This support starts shortly after acquisition, working closely with my customer to gather requirements. I develop a visual representation of the final space to ensure all requirements are met and the space is functional. Then, working with external vendors, the project is competitively bid. I oversee the execution of construction and develop a sustaining maintenance plan that is turned over to our Maintenance team. When necessary, I close out sites and return the space to landlords. As a designated Emerging Leader, I was selected for the Raytheon Six Sigma Expert Certification Program. R6Sigma is a disciplined, knowledge-based approach designed to increase productivity, grow the business, enhance customer satisfaction and build a customer culture that embraces all of these goals. The Expert certification involves 3 weeks of immersive, experiential training followed by a series of tasks culminating in an enterprise panel in front of executive leadership. My current project evaluates the space occupancy throughout our business and developing areas of opportunity that will impact the company’s bottom line. One of the highlights of my time with Raytheon has been to establish and maintain a rooftop honeybee apiary in support of Raytheon’s commitment to sustainability. Show less
