  Seasonal January-March 2005-2010- 1 year as a volunteer one-on-one ski instructor for a developmentally delayed girl. After the first year, she was integrated into a class I was teaching. When I began working with this student, she was 8-years-old, but was cognitively at the level of the average 1-year-old. I had to dress this student in her ski gear, feed her a snack, and assisted her parents in toilet training her. She had extremely limited communication, so I used the few signs that she knew and found other methods of communicating with her. I began by supporting this student on a harness, and she gradually progressed so that she could control her own speed.- Instruct groups of 7-10 students - Prepare report cards at the end of each 8 week session- Mentor an assistant instructor Show less
