      • Reviews events of previous shift and identifies any anomalies or non-routine events occurring in CDU, Kerosene Merox and LPG Merox units and any carry forward situations resulting in the on-going attention of the incoming shift such as maintenance work in progress, etc.• Reviews log books or TOB, establishes events and notes made during the last 24 hours prior to current shift, identifies any circumstances relevant to incoming shift Carries out a physical inspection of process equipment, safety and fire equipment, and personal protective equipment throughout shift. • Searches for developing trends of major operation variables and assesses needs to follow closely.• Carries out a physical inspection of process equipment, safety and fire equipment, and personal protective equipment throughout shift. • Takes outside readings and transfers to control room log sheet. Reports observed anomalies to shift Foreman or Control Operator.• Provides regular samples of products for testing and takes irregular samples as required.• Inspects heaters, rotating equipment, vessels, columns, drums etc., for normal operation. Check local instruments such as levels, flows, temperatures, pressures to ensure they meet accepted routine operating parameters of the plant.• Identifies operating problems on the units and reports to shift foreman or control operator on the situation at the earliest opportunity. Makes recommendations on possible solutions to recurring problems.• Controls the dosage of local chemical injection. Take readings of chemical inventory level periodically and maintain appropriate local inventory.• Participates regularly in dry training for the appropriate and prompt response to emergency• In the event of emergency, follows established emergency procedures and carries out instructions from the control operator in the control room.• Follows all established safety rules and regulations.       Strategy Assist Area Manager to implement the CDU (Area 1) department strategy to achieve the mandate of CDU and the associated treatment units for LPG, Kero and Spent Caustic neutralization.Leadership Leads / Manages shift team (PO & FO) of Area 1 for achieving the unit daily objectives specified by SCM through daily guidelines. Manages Performance Appraisals of his direct reports (PO & FO) / subordinates. Nominates individuals for training programs based on training needs assessment. Demonstrate leadership in the development of sub-ordinates the CDU (Area 1) shift team.
