  • I managed a team of five engineers, in Mechanical Design Engineering Group, in the final stages of development of all mechanical systems of the HeartSaver Ventricular Assist Device. (HSVAD). These included the device shell, internal controller, internal battery, implantable connectors, energy transmission system, the external controller and external battery. This encompassed a broad range of biomaterials, manufacturing and assembly techniques.

I developed and employed a business model/methodology that integrates the primary features of several product development tools (QFD, TRIZ, FMEA, Stage Gate and others). Primary objective was to enable a client to first quantify then progressively increase performance in innovation.
