  ER WAS EENS (Canvas)SLIJK (Canvas)ASFALT (Canvas)For production company Diplodokus I directed episodes of 'Slijk', 'Asfalt' and 'Er Was Eens'. These documentary series were broadcasted on Canvas (Belgian public television / VRT). Details:'Slijk' is a series about sports on Belgian soil. The episode 'Sidecar Motorcross' revolves around a sidecar motorbike duo who are the worlds best. It takes two to race, but their friendship is beginning to show cracks and medical issues take their toll on the results. A documentary about the struggle to remain a strong team while growing apart.'Asfalt', a sequel to the above, is a series about sports on Belgian concrete. In the episode 'Pro' we follow the skateboarder Youness Amrani, who has become a pro at a young age. Having reached his life's goal, he finds it hard to escape boredom and maintain a competitive and motivated attitude - in spite of the pressure applied by his sponsors.In 'Er Was Eens', several scientists travel to faraway places to research exotic species. The series looks at science from a philosophical perspective and takes the viewer along in the intriguing search for answers about all that lives and has lived. The episode 'Evolution' revolves around a herpetologist trying to make sense of the migration patterns of frogs living on a very isolated and stormy habitat: table-top mountains in the Venezuelan paraitepui-region.Website: www.diplodokus.be Show less
