      I worked as a research assistant in the laboratory of Dr. Peter Doris where I studied the genetics of essential hypertension. My dissertation was entitled "Cyclophilin B as a Candidate Essential Hypertension Gene."

      Activities and Societies: I worked in the Laboratory of Dr. Shan Bilimoria where I studied members of the viral family Iridoviridae as potential pathogens for insect pests plaguing the cotton farmers in West Texas and other places. I also worked as a teaching assistant and discovered my love for teaching when I was granted the opportunity to teach laboratory sections of Biology of Animals and Cell Biology courses at Texas Tech University.
