      Greenspace Project Officer

Based in Planning Policy, main activities were to develop and maintain greenspaces, educational projects and build positive relationships in schools and communities to improve, green and sustain the urban environment. Consultation was key to managing direct links on contracts and project management to deliver practical improvements and environmental education in communities through developing accessible training, co-production on management plans, commissioning specialists, cross public agency schemes, private sector/ corporate and housing associations to tie in with pertinent strategies and legislation. In order to stimulate interest to improve and assist local communities and develop funding packages, we would work cross agency to identify the most appropriate lead partner for individual projects, including where necessary provision of support to help communities to secure funding, write tenders and oversee the project proposals. LCG managed various projects and grant schemes sitting within the Single Outcome Agreement, Local Plan, Joint Structure Plan and tie in with many high performing schemes of Greenspace Scotland, SNH and Central Scotland Green Network.
