      Staffed W.K. Kellogg Foundation funded program and represented consumer advocates in communities in Kansas, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Vermont and West Virginia to preserve the presence of non-profit health plans and hospitals or to secure resources of medically underserved populations in conversions and hospital bankruptcy. Secured $35 million for funding of health care foundations.

Recruited into newly created function focused on patients with legal issues (e.g., mental capacity) impacting safe discharge from hospital facilities. Saved $500,000 in first 6 months.Functional and Organizational Leadership:Acted as interim executive director for 13 months of a primary care clinic for Medicaid patients, integrating dental services. Acted as interim leader of Mission Integration for five months, overseeing 50-member team.IRS Reporting Compliance:Built culture of compliance with hospital CFOs and corporate C-suite to protect non-profit status, including creation of IRS reporting framework, training on reporting requirements and processes, quality control of reporting, and other measures to address deficiencies found in internal audits. Partnered with tax team on mandatory reporting to the IRS to maintain non-profit status. Community Benefits Program:Led 6-month community needs assessment process, coordinating with C-suite of 17 hospitals and 5 professionals to develop individual assessments for each hospital.
