      This gave me an insight into the design role of a chemical engineer, and involved working in a team to create a heat exchanger. This was done by using computer software to create a simulation of the system and to produce a process flow diagram, as well as taking safety issues and costs into account

      This involved making an inorganic hybrid nanostructure under the supervision of a research scientist at the University of Manchester. During this time, I carried out experiments to find out if we could successfully create nickel nanorods by directing experiments and analysing the product with an electron microscope and an x-ray diffractometer. This allowed me to achieve a Gold CREST Award for my project
