      ENGINEERING OFFICER OF THE WATCH , ENGINEERING DUTY OFFICER In depth expertise in Reactor theory, steam turbine construction and operation, chemistry, radiological controls, electrical power storage, generation and distribution systems. Superior watch stander as shown during DOE/DOD Operational Reactor Safeguards Examination. § Nuclear Manager, the senior supervisor onboard one of the Naval Nuclear Prototype Platforms. I am responsible for the entire operation of the multi-million dollar power plant including personnel and reactor safety while ensuring compliance with DOE regulations. Qualification involves several oral and written examinations. This qualification is normally for officers or E-7 and above, but I was selected to qualify this watch as an E-6 with less then 7 years in the Navy due to sustained superior performance. When shutdown, responsible for the supervision, planning and execution of all maintenance with coordination from each division while the plant is shutdown. Responsibilities extend to evolution management including all plant transitions while shutdown. Emphasis on plant dynamics and Reactor Safety involved during transitioning and maintaining abnormal plant conditions.
