The project’s scope included implementing the JDEdwards’ World software, Summit’s LogisticsPro Warehouse software, Sterling Commerce’s Gentran Server software; installing related hardware (3 integrated AS/400’s, new Ethernet infrastructure, radio-frequency terminals, and integrated conveyor systems); and eliminating all existing SAP and mainframe systems. Managed multiple projects at various EDS Accounts: General Motors Electro-Motive Division (EMD), Continental Airlines, BTI Americas, and Favorite Brands Inc. Responsibilities included managing 70 project team members and the Chicago Solution Center’s Project Management Office. I led a global virtual team of 180 resources from US, Canada, Europe, and India and was responsible for talent acquisition of 150 of these resources. My accomplishments included:- Exceeded financial targets while achieving highest ratings in customer satisfaction and top quartile ratings among Account Executives. - Built $120 million IT services program and retained business through three renewal cycles (applications/infrastructure support, data center hosting, and help desk). - Implemented a service-oriented architecture for integrating Oracle ERP with legacy plant systems enabling a flexible, time-phased deployment of ERP across USS enterprise. - Launched strategic consulting engagements in ERP/MES integration, portfolio management, data warehousing/business analytics/KPI reporting, IT security, and cloud infrastructure accelerating USS adoption of innovative technologies and resulting in over $10 million in additional revenue for HP. - Completed aggressive transition activities merging Stelco Steel into USS within 12 months, saving USS over $15 million annually. - Executed emergency consolidation plans during 2009 economic disaster when US Steel idled 80% of facilities and maintained excellent relationship enabling expansion post crisis; redeployed/reduced approximately 100 resources to support business downturn objectives.
