  Peer Tutor and Student Representative for FCIT in Sohar University Academic Support Services

  The Peer Tutoring program aims to build a team of Peer Tutors. As high achieving students, we provide voluntary learning assistance to their fellow studentsPeer Tutor support is provided for all services offered. Students identify and connect easily with a Peer tutor because of their common learning environment.Students can choose from one to one consultations and/or small group consultations while regular workshops are also conducted for larger groups.This program helps support different levels of study, from General Foundation up to 4th year courses across all faculties in the university. We have scheduled consultations and are also available at the student's request. This program has also continued in our previous Remote Online Learning semesters.Aside from being a peer tutor, I also volunteered to help out the staff for scheduling and attendance, as well as automating the consultation booking and scheduling for both the peer tutors and students. This also enabled the staff to easily monitor the consultations and helped improve the current system based on the student and peer tutors' feedback.I was in charge of continuing the Peer Tutoring Programme for the Faculty of Computing and IT, responsible for scheduling extra classes, recruiting peer tutors, overseeing general operations, communicating closely with the staff, while being one of the peer tutors for several courses as well. عرض أقل

  I was granted another year as the GDSC Lead in my university, and we were able to improve on our progress from the first year and significantly make a change in our community through the various events we held that focused on both Google Technology through hands-on training, and non-technical aspects and skills that can help build students' careers for their futures. In collaboration with the different GDSCs in Oman, we hosted the first GDSC Oman Ideathon that gathered different student developers to help solve one of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals for last year's Global Solution Challenge. عرض أقل Google Developer Student Club Leads are passionate leaders at their university who are dedicated to helping their peers learn and connect. Google collaborates with Leads and supports them as they start and grow their on-campus community.I founded the first MENA Google Developer Students Club (GDSC) in my university back in 2019, led a core team of diverse and talented individuals, conducted workshops, held multiple events, collaborated with other organizations and drove groups of student developers towards making a change in the community using Google technology.We were able to build a small community that enabled us to cultivate an environment that encouraged learning new and existing technology, and helped spread that to students, not only in our community, but to others across the nation. عرض أقل

  As the Project Manager for the WTM International Women's Day 2021 Summit, my responsibilities lie on unifying all teams to ensure relevant teams know about each other’s progress, help with any roadblocks or issues and ensure deadlines are met, as well as to schedule weekly/bi-weekly meetings with relevant groups for wider updates.I was able to build a magnificently diverse team of over 45+ organizers and 50+ speakers, each with their own set of roles and responsibilities. By the end of the recruitment process, we had more people than I initially expected, all different ages, nationalities, time zones, and walks of life. I assigned team leaders for the 5 main branches of our teams: Facilitators, Social Media, Design, Communications, and Tech Support. With each team, came different skill sets that I was confident the team leaders would be capable of executing perfectly.It was my job to assign roles and set up check-ins, confirm summit dates and platforms to be used, register our summit, request for the event budget, create the summit agenda, with interactive moments, find speakers and build out the run of show. I was to ensure that the summit was inclusive and accessible, create a promotion and social plan, promote summit to attendees and hold a dry-run of content with all speakers.We have made tremendous impact by arranging special events, workshops, tech talks, and different sessions for WTM International Women's Day 2021, with speakers, organizers and participants reaching over 19 countries, spanning across 5 continents and timezones. It was a resounding success and one of the greatest sources of pride as a WTM Ambassador, and as a person who has always wanted to give minorities like myself, a platform to speak in and amplify their voices to a larger audience. عرض أقل
