  My role involved supporting scientists with research trials into tree health and forest harvesting impacts, I developed experimental trials and conducted field and laboratory measurements that were used to develop guidelines for improved forest harvesting and forest establishment practices.

  I was involved in extensive groundwater studies in the Taupo and Coromandel areas. These studies involved water quality sampling to characterise the groundwater quality and hydrological investigations to assess the capacity of these aquifers. This workstream was important as it assisted the Regional Council in setting policy around groundwater use and protection.
