Project spanned Gauteng, KZN and the Western Cape.Notably, led the R68M Freeway Management Systems project in the Western Cape. Set up the Western Cape office, managed the project start to finish. Collaborated across-disciplines in developing products.Special contributions: 1) developed a dart gun equipped UAV and dart gun and sighting system for application where a helicopter is too expensive. Designed an integrated helmet sight system that allowed the gun to be moved up and down through a head-tracking device.2) created a UAV with long range capabilities of up to 100km and flying time of 45-90 minutes.   Consulted to and project managed major Intelligent Transport System projects, notably via contracts for Road Traffic Management Services (RTMS) Namibia and SANRAL (South African National Road Agency Ltd).Key activities included design and building of traffic management solutions, directing development of civils, hardware, software aspects.Special contributions included: 1) Intelligent Transport Design for AERTMC Namibia - designed a complete traffic management solution for the Arandis and Usakos area. This included costing of a Freeway Management System, building of a pilot project for evaluation by the National Road Safety Council and development of a future solution.2) Procurement of a National Intelligent Transport System (for SANRAL) - completed outstanding build-works for the ITS project. Worked across engineering disciplines: digital fibre and wireless communications, and construction of housings for roadside electronic equipment (CCTV, weather stations, radar, IT networks).
