As a Recreation Manager, my job was to work with a small team to run a youth sports education program. This program revolved around child care and athletic instruction. In this role I learned and dealt with training of future staff, management of timetables/activities, and conflict mitigation. As a recreation specialist, I had the privilege of teaching and working with the youth of Olympia WA to develop athletic skills at a young age. This work required patience, kindness, and passion for helping others grow and learn. I often interfaced with other camp programs, developed schedules, and managed public communication between the camp and customers. In the program assistant role, I was introduced to large camp management including, customer interfacing, public speaking, critical schedule development, and government regulation compliance. These skills where used on a daily basis to maintain activity quality and adhere to city ordinances.
