      Activities and Societies: Experimental Analysis of Human Behavior Lab I enrolled as a doctoral student of Dr. Anna I. Petursdottir’s in the psychology department at Texas Christian University. Our lab conducted both translational and applied research in verbal behavior; from studying typical language development in children and adults to determining how research and theory can contribute to more efficient language intervention strategies for children with delayed language acquisition. Petursdottir’s in the psychology department at Texas Christian University. Our lab conducted both translational and applied research in verbal behavior; from studying typical language development in children and adults to determining how research and theory can contribute to more efficient language intervention strategies for children with delayed language acquisition. I served as a teaching assistant throughout the program and eventually served as an instructor for the introductory Applied Behavior Analysis course as well as the Principles of Behavior lab.       Activities and Societies: ORCA, BARC I worked as a behavior technician for children with ASD at the Child Study Center, under the supervision of Dr. Einar Ingvarsson, while simultaneously earning an M.S. in the experimental track of the behavior analysis program at UNT. During this time, I developed an interest in basic research as a result of courses on the experimental analysis of behavior and the theory and philosophy of behavior taught by Dr. Manish Vaidya. These influences eventually culminated in my master’s thesis; a… Show more I worked as a behavior technician for children with ASD at the Child Study Center, under the supervision of Dr. Einar Ingvarsson, while simultaneously earning an M.S. in the experimental track of the behavior analysis program at UNT. During this time, I developed an interest in basic research as a result of courses on the experimental analysis of behavior and the theory and philosophy of behavior taught by Dr. Manish Vaidya. These influences eventually culminated in my master’s thesis; a translational study on the value-altering affects of motivating operations in children with ASD. Along with my experiences in the clinic and the lab, I thoroughly enjoyed helping local businesses with improving employee performance under the supervision of Carrie Reed. Show less
