  Student Research Assistant

  • Updated an existing tractor prototype from purely analog to computer controlled. The update process required user interface, microcontroller programming, electrical wiring and actuator calibration in collaboration with a group of visiting scholars. The university authorized the project for an update in fall of 2019. The prototype demonstration to the Kubota Corporation secured funding for further updates to the project.

  • Conducted the selection process in conjunction with a sponsor corporation for all the required electronic components to update an Autonomous Tactor Prototype to work using system Controller Area Network (CAN) based on budget and supply constraints from the project sponsors. The approval of the design by the head of the department and the sponsors representatives resulted in the acquisition of the hardware by the university in 2020.• Led a team of 2 undergraduate research assistants in the development of software that allowed to create planting/harvesting paths for an autonomous tractor prototype.   • Developed an Autonomous Tillage Tool Control Downforce system based on Electro-Hydraulic actuation.
