Reading was always a major emphasis, but we worked hard on math, science, English, history, and Bible in one form or another every day. I was determined to spend the time with them to ensure mastery of their subjects, and we resisted every distraction that attempted to interrupt progress. Twelve hour days were not unusual.

This is a non-professional, volunteer position. The church strives to discern the Lord's will about a suspected call of God to preach. I began exercising in 2002, was ordained in 2004, silenced for doctrinal differences in November of 2008, restored to exercising on May 13, 2012, restored to full work November 11, 2012, and installed as associate pastor January 13, 2013. Gethsemane PBC meets two weekends a month; I moderate the second meeting. I regularly travel to weekend meetings in the eight churches of the Mt. Enon Association and in eight states where our association is in fellowship. Show less
