  My first gig in the exciting world of television. Spent 3 years in a darkened bunker making news graphics and the odd programme titles. Worked on the Ampex AVA - one of the earliest computer gfx paint systems for broadcast television. In technological terms - a dinosaur! In my spare time I would practice emptying the overflowing ashtrays off the workstation desks ( those were the days, before workplace smoking laws came into play). One particular area of responsibility required recalling graphics live on-air for the 6 o' clock news, which always had me breaking out in a cold sweat. The director yelled at you (or at least gave you a very disparaging sideways glance) if you were too slow or made a mistake. Of which I did both on a semi regular basis. Show less

  Felt like I spent most of my time drinking, playing cards, or hanging out at The Empire across the road. I'm pretty certain I did some work as well, but nothing comes to mind. I did get the opportunity to go to the Atlanta Olympics for the 6pm-4am graveyard shift. They had free Coke dispensers in the broadcast building. I made myself sick from excessive sugar intake, barely escaping the clutches of Type2 diabetes. I think a bomb went off somewhere. And I bought my first full suspension mtb with the per diems I never spent. Show less

  Started out on a Quantel Hal Express, until I insisted it be made into a boat anchor. Worked on many well-known accounts, such as KFC, Noel Leeming, Bond & Bond, Westfield. Hold the record for producing largest number of tvcs in one year (NL and B&B) ... approx 1,625,328. Yes, I realise this is somewhat of an exaggeration, but at the time it felt like it was never ending.

  Specialising in Motion Graphics, Design, 3D animation and browsing TradeMe for kitesurfing equipment that I really don't need. 20+ years experience (not the TradeMe browsing).Software packages used include Blackmagic Design Fusion Studio (3D compositing, motion graphics), Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder), Autodesk 3DSmax.
