  Trainee engineer operations

  I started my traineeship with orientation of various departments and I was appointed in process department by covering all the major process areas including Polycondensation Plant (Poly-I, Poly-II) and Solid State Polymerization plant (SSP-I, SSP-II) some major outlines of my journey and the things which I learned are:• Monitoring and logging process parameters on distributed control system DCS at control room.• Understanding of (Delta V-Emerson) DCS, HMI, Interlocks and analyzing parameters on DCS.• Troubleshooting problems on plant during shifts.• Learning maintenance and process related activities during shifts and plant shutdowns.• Understanding general process flow diagrams of each unit.• Understanding operations of utilities department including PSA and effluent treatment plant.• Understanding piping and instrumentation diagrams of each unit. • Performing line tracing of plant units.• Studying working principles of various process equipment.• Learning field operations and maintenance work.• Preparing technical training handouts for fresh internees and trainees.• Preparing reports and process production data sheets as assigned by mentor.• Generating maintenance requests, gate passes and permits on SAP-S/4HANA.• Leading housekeeping and training activities inside the plant premises.• Weekly feedback discussion with mentor.Plant Shutdown Project During the January 2024 shutdown of the Zimmer Polycondensation-I plant, I was entrusted with the role of project engineer for a blitz plant transformation project. The primary objective was to elevate the plant into a well-maintained processing facility by executing a series of repair, fabrication, safety awareness, construction, paint, housekeeping, and maintenance tasks. Collaborating closely with personnel from operations, safety, mechanical, electrical, projects, and civil departments, I coordinated and led various activities throughout the shutdown period.   I started my journey with orientation of various departments and I was appointed in process operations department by covering all the major process areas on Bruckner BOPP film production line, some major outlines of my journey and the things which I learned are:• Conducting CLIT (Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection, and Tightening) tasks to ensure smooth operations.• Trained operators on Autonomous Maintenance techniques, empowering them to take ownership.• Conducted maintenance-related activities at the plant, including routine inspections and troubleshooting.• Actively involved in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiative.• Implemented 5S methodology to organize and optimize the workplace efficiency.• Played a key role in Autonomous Maintenance activities.• Studying working principles of various process equipment.Equipment Tagging ActivityCurrently working as a 5S lead by implementing this methodology according to Japanese methods. I spearheaded an equipment labeling and floor safety marking project following Bruckner's guidelines. Collaborating with electrical, mechanical, process, store, admin, and contractors, my team ensured accurate equipment labeling for easy identification and maintenance tracking. Additionally, we marked floors to highlight walkways and hazard areas, significantly enhancing workplace safety. Show less
