  Software Engineer

  Moon Valley software is a smaller business and I am one of two developers. As such I have needed to obtain a wide variety of skills in order to complete the tasks set in front of me. I have architected applications from concept to completion in ASP.net and MVC primarily and have also designed and deployed accompanying databases for the products. As part of my MVC development, I use a Test Driven Development approach with Visual Studio Unit tests to ensure our products work correctly. I have worked deeply with the .Net 4 framework and some of its more complex features such as reflection and the parallel task library. I have also converted all of the database interaction on the products that Moon Valley builds from ADO.Net to Entity framework. I have had experience with windows forms but not as much as WPF and Silverlight. I have maintained some windows forms applications but have not created any from concept. In WPF I have created various utilities for our editorial staff to complete various tasks easier. These utilities have worked with accompanying web services to allow our editors to access live data on our servers. Besides software development, I have used SQL for data processing in order to deliver data to customers and build upon the data we already have. I am experienced in Subversion and currently use it.   I develop enterprise level software for customers and lead teams in developing larger projects. I also manage customer interaction on Projects. We work in the .NET technology stack and my specialty is MVC. Additionally, I have been creating new WPF applications using MVVM and WCF.I have been in charge of customizing Team Foundation Server to meet our needs and give us the functionality we require from our modified agile process. This involves creating custom work item templates and modifying the backlogs. Recently I have also upgraded our system from WSS 4.0 to Sharepoint 2010.I have also just deployed and configured Team Foundation Server 2013 into our production environment with Build and Lab functionality. Having reliable processes for Dev, QA, and Project Managers is extremely important for a project to succeed and Team Foundation Server 2013 will help manage that for our company. I am beginning training on TFS 2013 and its integration with Visual Studio and Test Manager immediately.I have begun working on Windows 8 development and worked on a team that took home grand prize for the development of an app called Travel Social at the CES 2013 MODEV Hackathon. Our application integrated with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, and Kii to provide users with rich social content based on a location they provide.More recently I have been involved in developing best practices to maximize company efficiency both onshore and offshore.   My focus at SpaceX is to implement intuitive, touch friendly applications. The target platforms for these applications range from iPads to large 60" touchscreen televisions. These applications also were developed in WPF and MVC depending on the devices they needed to be used on.Working with the production team, I have learned about the main pain points of the manufacturing process and have come up with ways to use software to make these pain points less painful as part of a goal to increase manufacturing speed and efficiency.Recently I have been working on applications to help NASA confirm that SpaceX parts conform to their standards. The first application involved creating a virtualized matrix in Angular and loading 13Mb of data on application start thereby preventing any lag while the users were working with the application. The grid was fully keyboard accessible and performed much better than its Excel counterpart. Show less

  As an engineer at Fox, the majority of my work was related to helping to migrate some of our services to be Cloud Native. Some of our older services had been running on a Tibco service bus that was being retired. My first task was to deploy a couple of new Kubernetes Clusters. Once the clusters had been deployed and configured with any supporting services, my team and I began the process of converting the services to Asp.Net Core so they could run on Linux Nodes in these clusters. We built centralized infrastructure libraries that other teams could use to speed up development of applications that would be deployed in Kubernetes. The libraries had helpers that would allow you to configure certain concerns like Logging to follow company standards with only a single line of code.I also designed and implemented the CI/CD processes and created Custom Tasks in Azure DevOps that would be used for all Cloud Native services.
