  • About me

Associate Director at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

  • Education

    • Hackensack High School

      1991 - 1995

Activities and Societies: National Honor Society

    • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey-New Brunswick

      2001 - 2008
      Ph.D. Physical Chemistry

      * Authored a cover article that identified the amyloid formation pathway of β-lactoglobulin. Classified the intermediate aggregate species by conformation and size with the GRIP analysis of DLS and TRF spectroscopy. * Published GRIP (Globally Regularized Interior Point gradient method), a “model-free” global fitting algorithm for fluorescence and DLS data. Classified the intermediate aggregate species by conformation and size with the GRIP analysis of DLS and TRF spectroscopy. * Published GRIP (Globally Regularized Interior Point gradient method), a “model-free” global fitting algorithm for fluorescence and DLS data. Uncovers population distributions not apparent by traditional fitting. * Conceptualized and co-authored a new single molecule fluorescence photobleaching technique applicable for counting single fluorescent subunits within larger multimolecular biological assemblies.* Assembled and maintained picosecond time-resolved fluorimeter for ensemble and single-molecule experiments. • The College of New Jersey

      1995 - 1999
      B.S. Chemistry (Minor: Physics)

Activities and Societies: Phi Kappa Psi * Wrote Visual Basic code that automated HyperChem to perform and organize a large set of systematic torsion angle changes and single-point energy calculations of a cisplatin analog bound to guanosine 5'-monophosphate. * Compared modeling results to in-house 195Pt NMR measurements to further understand the structural effects of the minor groove binding of cisplatin analogs as a way to help predict new efficacious chemotherapeutic drugs.

  • Experience

    • International Specialty Products

      May 1997 - Sept 1998
      Industrial Intern (Research and Development)

      * Developed quantitative HPLC (GPC) assays for the determination of percent solids of new polymer products.* Investigated hydro-gel swelling kinetics for a set of cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymers as part of background data for a new hair conditioner patent application.

    • Hoffmann-La Roche

      Jun 1999 - Jan 2001
      Contract Scientist (HPLC Method Development)

      * Performed standard HPLC (IE, SEC, RP, etc.) analytics in a GLP environment. * Followed SOPs and assisted with method qualification and impurity characterization. * Developed and validated an SOP for a combination IE/SEC tandem purity assay for peginterferon.

    • Rutgers University

      Oct 2008 - Aug 2011
      Postdoctoral Fellow / Visiting Scholar

      * Published the kinetic mechanism and protein aggregation free-energy landscape for amyloid fibril formation of ß-lactoglobulin developed from quantitative analysis and simulation of DLS and AFM particle-size distributions. * Co-authored article that quantitatively related the rate of in vitro amyloid formation of α-synuclein (implicated in Parkinson’s Disease) with accessibility to hydrophobic interfaces. Work was praised in a Nat. Chem. editorial.
