This has the effect of reducing the number of patients held on clinical queues who could be managed and referred quickly without prolonged assessment, freeing clinical advisors to be available for warm transfers and to carry out further triage. Show less As a clinician led service, where call outcomes often require a call back, or immediate transfer to clinician, I provide a telephone based assessment, treatment and management advice and direct callers to most appropriate services, whether this is emergency Department, out of hours services or in hours with their own GP.I also provide support and advice to call handlers in clinical, professional and technical areas in their management of people requesting advice and out of hours treatment in the Yorkshire and Humber region.   Mental Health Act Managers represent the management of NHS Trusts with responsibility for detained patients. Hospital Managers will hear appeals from patients against their detention and review renewals of lengthy detentions to ensure they are legal, ethical, within the best interests of the patient and are as unrestrictive as possible. Working as part of a panel of three other managers, it is the role of the manager to approve or deny appeals, extensions to detention orders and applications for community treatment orders.The role requires a working knowledge of the 2007 mental health act and is a highly responsible position, with final decision on detention orders against patients.
