  Carried tools for my foreman and organized material, and learned first hand experience on the job instead of starting out in the classroom. I learned to watch. I quickly could identify what he would need, how many, how fast, etc. before he even had to ask me. We then moved on to blueprint reading and a small amount of pipe bending, mainly MC-Cable on those jobs though. Afterwards I began to learn and develop my leadership skills by being put in charge of a certain portion of the job and maybe one or two temporary workers to do what I say. That taught me how to work with different personalities and how to delegate roles to specific people based on what I perceive to be their strengths and weaknesses to expediate the task and efficiently move the job forward.
