  Investigated the influence of preventative behaviors on psychopathology using the Epidemiological Catchment Area survey. Researched the influence of sociocultural and developmental influences on disordered eating attitudes and behaviors in Asian and Asian American women. Researched and conceptualized a new framework associated with Asian American health issues. Created new graduate course, “Ethnicity, Health & Health Care.”

  Researched, interviewed and compiled mental health stories for a web-based 24-hour health news channel. Researched mental health issues from Alzheimer’s disease to autism, depression, schizophrenia and suicide. Mental health experts were interviewed for each story, and three to four stories were posted every day for the public and press.

Collaborated with PenFed Credit Union and Capital One Bank. Program was featured in Forbes, July 2019.• Collaborated with community associations to create specialized courses of yoga, tai-chi and qi-gong for specific groups such as seniors, pre-teens, etc. Worked with special populations including the hearing-impaired, blind, and physically challenged.   • Developed, coordinated and wrote scientific studies investigating the immunological, psychological and physiological changes in the body regarding complementary and alternative methods of treatment. • Researched and wrote review articles related to mental health promotion and mental health advocacy. Coordinated the 1st Annual Mental Healthy Cities Forum for the Asia-Pacific Region attended by President Ma and 17 mayors of Taiwan. Worked with leaders from Australia, Hong Kong and the U.S. to implement mindfulness and mentally healthy practices with the intention to make systemic changes in leadership. • Lobbied legislators in the Federal Government to reconsider proposed changes to the Bureau of Health’s organization. Aided supervisors in developing press conferences and disseminating press releases on mental health advocacy issues. Show less
