  Camp Jabiru aims to create a typical camp experience with the addition of therapeutic intervention to support and facilitate therapeutic intervention to facilitate and support individual participation and group experiences. Over a one week intensive camp, I worked closely with children aged 11-12 year old boys with sensory processing disorders, assisting them with emotional regulation, sensory processing, social skills, and gross and fine motor skills.   Transition Care Program - 10 week placement Providing short-term OT rehabilitation to optimise the functioning and independence of the geriatric population following a hospital stay. The OT role within TCP involves conducting functional assessments, assessing and modifying home environments, prescribing assistive technology and developing intervention plans to suit a specific diagnosis. This role also includes extensive case management, including being aware of Home Care Packages, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, current codes available, Medical Aid Subsidy Scheme, services received and organisation of long term equipment, modifications and health care appointments prior to discharge. Working along side a supportive multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, clinical nurses, social workers and personal care workers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care. Show less
