  Designed, developed, and implemented a comprehensive 14-week undergraduate course ALHP 391: Managing Innovation: Introduction to Research Administration for VCU's College of Health Professions. The course aimed to provide students with a foundational understanding of the vital role of research administration in the advancement of knowledge and innovation, and to introduce undergraduates to research administration as a profession (the greatest job you have never heard of). Key components included pre-award and post-award processes, proposal development, funding opportunity identification, regulatory compliance, and the use of technology in research administration. Utilized a variety of educational resources, including case studies, podcasts, and educational materials from professional organizations, to create an engaging and practical learning experience. Show less The Wright Center for Clinical & Translational Research at VCU seeks to advance science and foster partnerships to accelerate translational research for the betterment of human health. Through its cores, the Wright Center encourages, engages and supports collaborative participation of investigators and students throughout the university, community partners and volunteers in the Richmond region, and government organizations to work together on innovative research that transforms the scientific study of human health.As Administrator Director, I am responsible for all phases of administration, including designing and monitoring all administrative and financial systems and associated infrastructures for oversight of finance, research administration, communications/public relations, human resources, grant agency reporting, and inter-institutional coordination with the VCU Health System.I also have administrative oversight of the Collaborative Advanced Research Imaging (CARI) MRI facility and the Institute for Drug and Alcohol Studies (IDAS), which advances multi-disciplinary research and training on the neurosciences of addiction and related neurobehavioral disorders.
