  Marketing Derby's aim is to promote Derby in order to support and attract investment. This is done by raising the profile of Derby through constant communication of positive news/messages and campaigns. By hosting potential investors, working closely with partners in the private and public sectors, hosting events and developing tools for the businesses in the City to use in order to foster positive growth, Marketing Derby are responsible for a host of valuable investment into the City.Marketing Derby work closely with key partners such as Derby City Council and is joint funded by the public and private sectors.My role here was to make Derby 'best in class' online, to maintain the 3 websites that give all the information about staying in Derby, investing in Derby or visiting Derby.I played an integral role in managing events all over the UK, taking Derby to key leaders in business and the government. These events ranged from VIP receptions at new developments within the city to large scale presentations with PR stunts attached!I also supported the development and management of the 'Bondholder' scheme developed by Marketing Derby. This is a dynamic and valued community of businesses who support Marketing Derby financially. They are a a big part of Derby's regeneration and receive various benefits such as the incredibly popular events programme which involves inviting 10 - 300 delegates to a range of events throughout the year.During my time at Marketing Derby, I also aided the implementation of a CRM system, becoming a paperless office. This also allowed me to develop further communication channels through e-newsletters and regular electronic invitations. Show less

  My current role is to build and sustain Roundhouse Event’s conference and event business, continuing to secure large scale events, working to turnover-related targets to maximise revenue.My role at Roundhouse Events is;- Increase the volume of bookings at all Derby College commercial event spaces, including The Roundhouse, Derby.- Communicate with the events industry through e-marketing and social media. - Identify key existing national and international events and new business opportunities.- Plan and prioritise account development activities including client appointments, familiarisation visits and marketing events.- Develop pricing strategies in response to the changing needs of the business.- Utilise CRM systems and produce sales and prospective sales reports on a regular basis.- Attend networking events, conferences and exhibitions to create new sales leads.If you are looking for a venue for your event, please get in touch and I'd be more than happy to discuss opportunities with you. My current role here at The Roundhouse, Derby is to continually ensure the high standards that are expected of the ‘Event Space of the Year’ (Event Magazine Awards), growth of Roundhouse Events and liaise with customers, clients and suppliers to deliver a wide range of events.
