      A wholly owned subsidiary of a Canadian company from Toronto. The Toronto based company was a manufacturer of all types of adhesive products. Conros of Taylor was a marketer and distributor of the products manufactured by the parent company.Responsibilities included:General ledger maintenance and analysis, reviewed month-end and year-end accruals, reserves, & estimates. Performed account reconciliations and financial statement preparation for monthly and annual reporting. Created queries to analyze and explain variances and deviations from AOP.In June 1989, warehouse and distribution were placed under my direct supervision.Partnered with executive staff to develop the annual business plan. Developed accounting & general office procedures for this new corporation. Prior to incorporating, the business operated as a distribution arm of a manufacturing company from Toronto. Responsibilities included:Assessed overall organizational structure and procedures in accordance to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act including testing remediation, upgrading disclosure and increasing audit reliability.Planned, organized and directed the accounting functions and reported operational results. This included the formulation of accounting policies, the preparation of financial statements and other operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures to effectuate internal controls. Directed a staff of 12, including general office, IS, and credit departments and two specialists involved in operations. Managed financial controls during time of tremendous growth providing over 40% return on assets each year since 1997. Managed working capital components to provide positive quarterly cash flow. Presided over successful system conversion in 1997 from a PC based software system to a proprietary operating system and a Computer Associates (Masterpiece) general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable system. From 2008 through January 2010, directed company communications during tax/compliance audits. Directed the retail accounting group and led a company panel to organize & catalog policies & procedures throughout organization. In 2010, provided accounting assistance for Continental Cabinets, Inc.. The company was sold in March and services focused on transitioning from AS400 Frontier system to the new platform of JD Edwards. February 2011, contracted with TEAM Consultants, Inc. to bring the company into a turnkey operation. Providing training to staff on utilizing the accounting module within their operating software system.
