  Pipefitter, East Kirkby Engineering: 2006 – CURRENT• Many years’ experience of working in a pre-fabrication workshop environment. Duties involve cutting, tacking and grinding for preparation of pipes for pre-fab boiler rooms, gas pipes, oil lines and high pressure hot water and heating pipes of various sizes ranging from 2inch – 10inch.• From time to time I am required to carry out hospital shut downs at various hospitals around the country, both in the day and also at night doing tasks such as replacing heating, gas and oil valves, pipe work and removing ‘dead legs’ throughout the hospitals. • Mechanical installation of a new hospital in Derby, from the installation of the heating system to fitting the hot and cold water system. • I have managed various projects, delegating tasks to other workers and I have been responsible for ensuring projects are completed within deadlines. An example of this is overseeing the completion of the refurbishment and extension of a local primary school. • I have installed boiler houses of all sizes with gas, oil and solid fuel boilers using different sizes of pipework and various jointing methods. • Installed and maintained steam and condense lines at Lincoln County Hospital.• I have had a major role at a new biogas plant which I worked closely with a team of fitters and welders. I worked from schematic and detailed drawings, doing a range of jobs from making the bracket structures to the measuring, cutting, prepping and fitting of 6 - 10 inch stainless steel and carbon steel pipework.
