      Plans, organizes and directs, through subordinate staff, the work of a large staff of employees and contractors engaged in maintenance and repair activities for facility services such as building maintenance, custodial services, pavement, grounds work, and technical systems maintenance services. Electrical, electronic, and HVAC/Utility services for the City's municipal airport complex; assigns areas of responsibility and specific projects to subordinate staff; establishes efficiency standards; establishes goals and objectives. Recommends modifications of existing plant and equipment facilities; prepares rough layouts, plans and specifications, and cost estimates of proposed modifications and construction projects; consults with architects and engineers to ascertain that functional requirements are effectively incorporated into the plans and specifications to minimize airport disruption during construction or renovation; refers discrepancies to the attention of architects and engineers. Prepares preventive, standard and emergency maintenance procedures; studies and evaluates new maintenance procedures, techniques, and equipment for possible implementation; keeps abreast of new federal and state regulations affecting the maintenance of airports; confers with federal and state officials regarding the maintenance of a municipal airport complex. Studies development of new and expanded aviation facilities to determine their effect on the various airport maintenance programs, and formulates proposals designed to maintain levels of efficiency and service throughout the airport system; confers with engineering and operations administrators and airport officials to define future needs and to improve maintenance procedures; developing budget estimates for airport maintenance expenditures.Directs the scheduling and coordinating of maintenance and repair activities to achieve effective and efficient utilization of manpower, time, materials, tools and equipment Show less
