    • Greenspoon kenya

      Jan 2016 - Nov 2024

Grown the business from start-up to medium size, with annual revenue of Kshs 450 mn + (2023). I get to show up at work every day and do things that I care passionately about! I care deeply about the products we stock, the suppliers we work with, the customers we serve, the team we employ, and the impact we have on the planet. All these elements of Greenspoon fall under my remit. We wouldn't have a business if we weren't ninja storytellers. We love to educate and inform around the importance of transparency in food, buying local, supporting artisans, and individuals doing their bit to mitigate climate change and leave the planet in better shape for the next generation. To understand how best to do this, and how best to serve our customers, I work hard on strategies to get closer to our community and closer to our suppliers. I work with an amazing team, from our packers to our drivers, customer service, marketing and growth, finance, operations, logistics and procurement teams, and in this position I engage with every department of our business. One of our ongoing mantras is to keep trying to do the right thing: this means constant growth for all of us. We foster an approach that is always open to ideas, change, and doing what is necessary to be a business that puts people and planet before profit. That said, we are a for-profit enterprise, and I strongly believe that being a business for good does not mean compromising on profitability. Achieved B Corp Certification in November 2022. Greenspoon is proving that businesses guided by sound and impactful principles will be successful. Show less
